Meet the Sous Chefs!

Kenny Ruiz is proud to be the current Sous Chef at Intermezzo by Wine Cask! He was born and raised in Santa Barbara and his interest in cooking was sparked by regular family barbecues growing up. Kenny landed his first job in the kitchen as a dishwasher and moved his way up to prep cook, line cook, and now a sous chef. He is excited to be a part of Sous Chefs’ Night Out and cannot wait to get started!

Santa Barbara born and raised, The University Club Santa Barbara‘s Sous Chef Anthony (Tony) Figueroa has always had a passion for food. He started his cooking journey in the San Marcos High culinary program and later attended Santa Barbara City College’s culinary program. Professionally, he was quick to rise through the ranks thanks to a positive outlook, can-do attitude, and genuine passion for the trade. Tony loves making people happy and seeing them enjoy his creations. He has been working with the guidance of Executive Chef David Rosner for the last two and a half years at The University Club of Santa Barbara and is looking forward to what’s next on the horizon!

Margerum Wine Company is committed to  creating handcrafted wines using only the highest quality grapes so that we can make wines that are indicative of the place where they are grown. We strive to make wines naturally, to make wines that have individual characteristics and to make wines with personality. The scale of production is kept at a level where we can touch and know the wine as it is raised to the bottle – the antithesis of mass production. The standards of quality are measured by our criteria – not by external sources. We make wines we personally enjoy – some to drink young; others for long aging in cool cellars for our children to enjoy. Share our wines with your family and friends at the table where they belong.
