Visit The Cultured Abalone Farm and take a tour of their sustainable aquaculture farm on the beautiful Goleta coast. Abalone farmer Devin Spencer will take you on an interactive tour that follows the fascinating process of red abalone cultivation, starting from microscopic larvae and ending with market ready abalone. In addition to learning about abalone farming, you will also explore the farm’s seaweed production systems and purple sea urchin program. This tour ends with sips of Casita de Bravo Wines and an abalone grilling demonstration where you can sample this classic Californian delicacy for yourself!

Be sure to pack a cooler so you can purchase your own live abalone to take home and share with friends and family! Keep in mind, this tour takes place on a working aquaculture facility and it is highly recommended guests wear shoes and clothing they won’t mind getting wet or muddy.

A portion of the proceeds from the Taste of Santa Barbara will benefit the Santa Barbara Culinary Experience in partnership with The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts.
