Go behind the scenes of the making of the MAX scripted television series JULIA with special guests including the show’s Executive Producer Chris Keyser and Director Jenée LaMarque. Guests will enjoy a special screening of select scenes from the series, which recreated Julia, played by actress Sarah Lancashire, filming The French Chef in the early 1960s.

Next, enjoy scenes from the original WGBH-produced The French Chef cooking show, starring the real-life Julia Child, which inspired the fictionalized series.

Joining us to compare and contrast original against re-creation, will be Alex Prud’homme, Julia’s grand-nephew, co-author of Julia’s memoir MY LIFE IN FRANCE and author of THE FRENCH CHEF IN AMERICA, Julia Child’s Second Act.

The evening will be moderated by Todd Schulkin, Executive Director of The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts and a Consulting Producer on JULIA. More special guests to be announced. Sponsored by PBS Distribution

Tickets include a glass of Fess Parker wine (if over 21) and popcorn, one Julia’s favorite snacks!

A portion of the proceeds from the Taste of Santa Barbara will contribute to the Santa Barbara Culinary Experience, in collaboration with The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts, furthering our shared commitment to culinary excellence and cultural enrichment.

Location: Metro 4 Theatre, 618 State Street, Santa Barbara
