Chef Jill Barton was born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland, and attributes her culinary love to her French grandmother. Crêpes were the first thing she learned to cook in her grandmother’s kitchen and she eventually used that same recipe in opening her restaurant “Le Crêpe Shoppe” in downtown Santa Barbara. Jill has worked in the food industry for close to three decades cooking in restaurants, as a private chef, on boats, and for professional sports teams. Now, Jill is the head Chef at Apples to Zucchini Cooking School where she writes recipes and lesson plans, manages the kitchen, and teaches cooking classes.

Apples to Zucchini Cooking School brings people together over shared meals by teaching children, teens, and adults how to prepare delicious, nutritious, affordable meals made from seasonal and local ingredients. Our adult classes are about the techniques, flavors, creativity, and fun of good cooking.
