Master the art of the sourdough pizza with chef and baker Jeff King. Learn to craft the perfect crust as Jeff shows you how to create your own dough from scratch to selecting the ultimate toppings that will take your pizza skills to the next level.

The class begins with a demo on how to mill your own flour then Jeff will show you how to incorporate a sourdough starter which is the key to making a crispy, chewy and full of flavor crust.

Students will get to roll out their own personal pizzas with their favorite toppings. The class will end with a communal lunch with fellow classmates in the kitchen. This cooking class will give you the skills and knowledge to make delicious sourdough pizza at home any time you want!

*Children 10 and older are welcome. Must be accompanied by an adult.

Each class will include local Santa Barbara wines and snacks for guests to enjoy during the lesson.

A portion of the proceeds from the Taste of Santa Barbara will benefit the Santa Barbara Culinary Experience in partnership with The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts.

Jeff King

Celebrated chef Jeff King can always be found in the kitchen and garden at A to Z Cooking School. He is a foodie aficionado and the master behind the scenes — securing produce at farmers markets, overseeing the school garden, organizing ingredients and baking a mean lemon tart.

Apples to Zucchini Cooking School brings people together over shared meals by teaching children, teens, and adults how to prepare delicious, nutritious, affordable meals made from seasonal and local ingredients. Our adult classes are about the techniques, flavors, creativity, and fun of good cooking.
